Children’s Minister (Full-time)

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bible, Education, or other related degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities for this position.  A successful candidate must have a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.

 

The Children's Minister will serve children from birth to 12 years old. Duties include conducting weekly evangelistic outreach, teaching Bible classes on Wednesday evenings and Sunday morning, assisting with and/or leading Children’s worship on Sunday.  Weekly attendance of church events, worship, Bible study, etc. is a requirement.  The Children's Minister must be a Christian and have a heart for ministering to a diverse group of children and their families including some living in poverty.  You must be able to work in a culturally diverse and predominantly African American and contemporary church environment.  You must be able to work as an integral part of a ministry team in an urban context serving the poor.

 

The Children's Minister will provide leadership for all children's activities and supervise the Children's Ministry staff. The Children's Minister must be a faithful leader, and have excellent supervisory and administrative skills.  The Children’s Minister will be responsible for directing the day to day operations of the child care center and supervising the staff.  The Children’s Minister will also be responsible for leading all aspects of ministry to children.  Duties also include mentoring, discipleship, conducting weekly evangelistic outreach, teaching the Bible on Wednesday and Sunday, providing leadership for Children’s worship, after school program, summer camps and other children’s programming.

 

As the Children’s Minister, you will work with other ministers as part of an evangelistic outreach youth ministry team in schools and communities through established partnerships in the community. The primary purpose of this position is to bring unchurched children and their families to Christ through various evangelistic outreach activities.  This position requires a very flexible schedule.

 

Position:  Assistant Children’s Minister (Full-time)

 

Requirement: A combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities for this ministry position or at least 1 year of ministry experience.  You must love God and love children and their families. The Assistant Children's Minister must be a faithful Christian, and have excellent ministry skills.

 

The Assistant Children's Minister will serve children from birth to 12 years old. Duties include conducting weekly evangelistic outreach, teaching Bible classes on Wednesday evenings and Sunday morning, assisting with and/or leading Children’s worship on Sunday.  The role also includes, working in the child care ministry, mentoring and tutoring children, serving in summer camp and other children’s programming.

 

You will be responsible assisting with all aspects of ministry to children. The Assistant Children's Minister must have a heart for children and their families that come from a variety of backgrounds including those living in poverty.  Weekly attendance of church events, worship, Bible study, etc. is a requirement. You must be able to work in a culturally diverse and contemporary church environment.  You must be able to work as an integral part of a ministry team in an urban context serving the poor.

 

As the Assistant Children’s Minister, you will work with other ministers as part of an evangelistic outreach youth ministry team in schools and communities through established partnerships in the community. The primary mission of this position is to bring unchurched children and their families to Christ through children ministry activities and various evangelistic outreach activities.  This goal is accomplished through “incarnational” ministry. Duties include direct contact with children and their families in our child care ministry, the congregation, in homes, in the community, and establishing relationship with parents and guardians.  You must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.  This position requires a very flexible schedule and a person called to ministry.
