2019 Summer Camp
In our community there are many single working parents with school age children.
During the summer they are unable to afford traditional summer camps and programs. Our goal is to provide a scholarship so that the children of working parents like Candice can be enrolled in a Christian, safe, reliable summer program. Many young children throughout our community are left at home alone or with other siblings. This will allow the parents to continue working and providing income for their families.
Many single moms work for less than a livable wage and truthfully do not have enough income to pay for Summer Camp or qualify for DHS vouchers. We say we want able body people to work this is an opportunity for us to support them as they try to better themselves and change their circumstances. The more parents and families we can encourage to work the better our communities will become. This is the first of many single women and men that we would like to try to help this summer.
We are excited about planning Summer Camp 2019 at Raleigh Community Church of Christ for under resourced children in our neighborhood. Our goal is to provide scholarships for 40 children that participate in our programming year round so that they will be able to attend summer camp free of charge. These children would not be able to attend a summer camp otherwise.
In order to do this we need individuals to sponsor a child for Summer Camp 2019. Please pray that God will bless our attempt to live out Mark 10:14.
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
You can help by blessing a child with one week of summer camp for only $90 or blessing a child for the whole summer for $900. Please click on the button below to bless a child.
